Pillage From All Sources

August 16, 2021

I am blogging everyday (or nearly everyday) on The Daily Stoic.

I try to keep in mind that I can learn something from everyone. Even the most abrasive and moronic people. They might have a good point despite my feelings. I try to put myself in the other persons shoes. To understand where they’re coming from. There’s often something to learn.

It's In Your Self-Interest

August 15, 2021

I am blogging everyday (or nearly everyday) on The Daily Stoic.

As much good as stoicism can be for people, it’s not a good idea to preach it to them. Instead I look for opportunities when people are struggling with something that I feel stoicism can help with. I do the same for other knowledge like management.

Don't Sweat The Small Stuff

August 14, 2021

I am blogging everyday (or nearly everyday) on The Daily Stoic.

This is a stoic about focus. Finding what’s really important. At work and at home. This is a constant improvement that needs to be made. Some times things fall out of favor or aren’t as worth as much. I need to continue to try and evaluate what’s important and what is not.

Don't Be Miserable In Advance

August 13, 2021

I am blogging everyday (or nearly everyday) on The Daily Stoic.

This is another stoic that has really helped me improve or reduce my anxiety. I don’t worry as much about things in advance anymore. I should let things come to me and focus my energies on other things. Flying used to create a lot of anxiety. It still does, just in a smaller dose. I’m still working on it. I’ve still managed to save myself a lot of stress and energy.

Where It Counts

August 12, 2021

I am blogging everyday (or nearly everyday) on The Daily Stoic.

When I was younger I spent a lot of time worrying about my clothes. This was simply so I could fit in and not be picked on. It surprisingly worked. I was picked on less and started to fit in more. Every move though there was a new set of clothes to figure out. Inside I was changing too but not in a superficial way.
