Daily Stoic(s)

October 29, 2021

I am blogging everyday (or nearly everyday) on The Daily Stoic.

Yesterday - A Higher Power

Giving up control. Accepting that I am not the director of my life. Video gaming I’ve seen this a lot. One small misstep or play can change the game. It’s the same with sport that one error opens the door for a big inning that otherwise wouldn’t happen. As I’ve studied stoicism and gotten into golf I appreciate more of what athletes have to put up with on a regular basis. They have to let go of what’s transpired and look ahead. That’s not always easy and may explain why some players with all the talent in the world can’t be successful

Today - Someone Else Is Spinning The Thread

I love what Uhtred from the Last Kingdom says. Destiny is all. In the books he often talks about the ladies that spin our destiny. They set our path and can end it at any point. My life has been a series of those things. Going into the Army and then not going in and instead going into the Navy. A happen meeting of a friend on the highway that led to me meeting my wife. The job I currently have. All things that were set in motion and my life could have been different because of anyone of the multiple course I could have been put on.
