I am blogging everyday (or nearly everyday) on The Daily Stoic.

Yesterday - Our Sphere of Impulses

We must learn from everyone. I try to keep this in mind when I’m frustrated or letting my ego get to me. I have much to learn about everything. I’m reminded of when I was doing the SANS SEC401 course. I had been in security for three years at that point and in IT for nearly 14 years. I thought the course would be easy and not worth my time. Boy was I wrong. I filled in a lot of gaps I had about technology and made me a better person. Now I recommend it for anyone that hasn’t taken it regardless of the years in IT. That recommendation helps me understand who has an ego problem and who doesn’t,

Today - Real Good is Simple

Living a simple life can make us happy. While we might think wealth and fame is a cure all for our hardship, it actually has it’s own problems. I was just watching the Taylor Swift documentary on Netflix. It’s not all happy times. There are quite a few rough patches that she has to navigate in the public view. I’m not big on fame, because of that. Imagine me being famous and going through what I went through last year. I would have fallen apart and a lot of celebrities do (example Britney Spears). I’m grateful I didn’t have to go through in the spotlight.
