I am blogging everyday (or nearly everyday) on The Daily Stoic.

No matter the circumstances we make the choice of who we are. I’m trying to instill this in my kids. Just because you have a disability or struggle with something more than others means that it defines you. You get to choose how you approach the struggles of life. When they get upset or made at one another or us and say “you’re making me this way” I respond that they are choosing to react that way. I’m not some stoic person in all this. I have frustrations and outbursts. I make mistakes. Often what defines us is how respond to situations. We can cower and give up or try to move forward with courage and resilience.
