Living Without Restriction

March 2, 2021

I am blogging everyday (or nearly everyday) on The Daily Stoic.

Getting off work today, I really wanted to have a drink. It was a long day with good ups and downs. I’m trying to cut back though and not allow alcohol to be my release because that usually leads to bad things. That could be restricting in itself. Maybe freedom is a lie. I often ask why not because it’s not a bad thing. It’s just bad when I overindulge. Often I overindulge because I’m trying to blow off steam. That can backfire. Other times it can work out just fine. Then again that may be the reasoning within my own head to continue doing habits I’ve formed over the last few years. I would like to feel like I’m in control a bit more.
